March 4th 2025
The workshop will be held on March 4th 2025
Speakers will have 15 to 20 minutes for the talk + 5 minutes for answering questions
Welcome to the 8th edition of IWBOSE
Session 1:
9:00 Welcome and Opening: H. Rocha and R. Tonelli
Opening Abstract:
Applications of Blockchain technology to a simulated energy community are also among the interest of the Workshop
Some authors employ Simulink and the public Ethereum Sepolia blockchain to perform real-time modeling and simulation of energy transactions within a renewable energy community and in parallel to securely record those transactions in the Ethereum Sepolia blockchain and for managing interactions
within the energy community. Main objectives of the study are to address the balance between surplus energy production
and demand among residential nodes, to manage the dynamic sharing of surplus energy generated from renewable sources enhancing overall efficiency, reducing dependency on the grid, and finally to obtain cost savings through local energy trading. Results show that it is possible to optimize
resource distribution, to enhance sustainability and to gain significant benefits from adopting public blockchains within
energy communities.
As a final remark we’d like to mention that this work has been supported by a national project related to Energy Community management and that renewable Energy Communities management through blockchain technology is becoming a major topic of interest among practical blockchain applications
